Rio Ferdinand is reportedly planning to propose to his girlfriend Kate Wright to show his commitment to her.Former TOWIE star Kate, 26 years old announced she was leaving the limelight last week to focus on her 38 years old boyfriend and looking after his three children.And sources claimed the former footballer, whose wife Rebecca Ellison died in 2015, wants to show his appreciation for Kate ‘giving up everything’ for him with a proposal.
Friends of star claimed Rio, who has set his sights on becoming a professional boxer, is ready to take his relationship with Kate to the next level.Sources told The Daily Star Rio not only wants to focus on the boxing ring but an engagement ring for the former reality star.’Rio is all about the ring right now. His ambition is to win a belt in boxing,’ a friend claimed.’But we reckon he’s after another ring long term an engagement ring for Kate. She’s given up everything for him now it’s time for him to commit to her.’
Rio was previously married to Rebecca Ellison, who was just 34 when she passed away in May 2015 after a short battle with breast cancer.They met while Rio was playing at West Ham in the late 1990s. Accountant Rebecca before married in 2009 and couple have three children together.The proposal claims come after Kate spoke for the first time about her widely-discussed relationship, revealing she was quitting showbiz to make Rio her ‘priority’.
She told ‘I’m taking a step back from public eye, I want to keep my life private as I lived my previous relationship on TOWIE, my priority right now is Rio and the family.’Despite two years of fame, winning various lucrative contracts and garnering 682,000 Instagram followers, she confirmed her time in the spotlight is up as she moves towards looking after Lorenz, 11 years old Tate, nine years old and Tia, six years old .And Kate appeared to be settling into her quieter routine as she celebrated her mother’s birthday with Rio by her side on Friday.
