Tropical Storm Harvey brought a lot more than just heavy rainfall to a Texas woman’s backyard. Arlene Kelsch, of Missouri City, posted a Facebook video on Saturday showing 2 alligators taking up residence in her flooded backyard. Kelsch told at first she spotted 1 gator swimming behind her home, but when she went to check on it she noticed a second alligator was also floating in her yard. “Now it looks like it’s not only him, but now him. So, not too far from just climbing on into the backyard and getting right here to the patio” she said in video, panning to show a second gator a few feet from the first reptile. Kelsch said to the Houston Chronicle that she thought it was kind of cool to see the alligators hanging out in her yard. “Holy crap was my reaction. I felt relatively safe seeing them, it’s kind of cool. As long as I don’t open my door, I’m fine, but it’s still a little creepy” she said. In addition to keeping an eye on gators, Kelsch told that she was making sure snakes didn’t find a way into her home. “We have seen some snakes. That’s really what I am keeping an eye out for inside my house. Residents here in Lake Olympia will have sightings in the spring of baby alligators, but never inside our backyards” she said.
