Big Tex? Try Big Lux. With the debut of Nissan’s flagship SUV trim, Armada Platinum Reserve, the 2017 State Fair of Texas shifted from trucks with massive power to trucks with massive power AND opulent features, inside and out.“With its annual attendance approaching 2.5 million fairgoers, what better place to showcase the Armada Platinum Reserve the most luxurious version of the reigning SUV of Texas than the State Fair of Texas?” told Billy Hayes, division vice president, Nissan Sales, Nissan North America, Inc.True. And with that being case, the new Armada Platinum Reserve fits right in thanks to standard 20-inch dark chrome wheels. Those wheels are complemented with optional dark chrome exterior trim on front grille, door handles and outside mirrors.
Interior features would also make Big Tex smile, with standard two tone leather appointed seats, and optional black quartz and premium wood tone interior trim. The model also features an embossed “Platinum Reserve” emblem on the console lid, because, well it’s the little things. As with Armada Platinum, the Reserve gets safety and security features like a forward collision warning system, back-up intervention and monitor. Both trims also receive as standard Nissan’s intelligent rearview mirror technology; it’s a high resolution camera mounted on the rear of vehicle that projects a clear image onto an LCD monitor built into the standard rearview mirror of the vehicle. As with all Armadas, power comes from a 5.6-liter V8 that makes 390 horsepower and is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. Sticker prices begin at $61,690 for 2WD and $64,590 for 4WD.
