Former Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo has revealed he will be undergoing treatment for brain cancer. The shocked heartthrob tells he has ‘got an interesting journey ahead and a bit of a battle.’ Alongside a smiling pic posted on Instagram, 29 years old TV star asked his fans to ‘please stay positive for me.’ He promised to keep his followers updated on his progress.
News comes after Johnny underwent emergency surgery to remove a brain tumour. Johnny, who rose to fame on The X Factor Australia, he went to hospital last Sunday with a migraine, before being rushed into surgery.
‘On Sunday I went into hospital with a migraine. I had to have emergency surgery to have a brain tumour removed. I am on the mend and feeling positive. Keep me in your thoughts’ Johnny said. Johnny’s management confirmed that he was awaiting results to see if the tumour is benign or malignant. He wrote on Instagram that health scare has helped ‘put things into perspective’. ‘Hoping for a positive result, keep me in your thoughts’ he said.
Fans sent Johnny well wishes on social media, with commenting ‘Please get better soon and sending a lot of love your way.’ Another says ‘Sorry to see and here this. Hope you have a good recovery. Prayers and thoughts are with you.’ Johnny’s management also shared an Instagram pic of Johnny in hospital after the operation, saying ‘You are in our thoughts and Prayers Ruffo. We love ya.’
Johnny has been dating dancer Tahnee Sims for almost 2 years, with couple posing for a romantic selfie together just 2 weeks ago. Tahnee is an avid social media user, but has not posted on Instagram for past week as she continues to support her boyfriend. Last month, fan favourite Johnny told Studio 10 he was a ‘mischievous’ child and ‘troublemaker’ of his family.
